Medway represented in House of Commons

On 10th November, our representatives George Peck and Malachi Wilson headed to UK House of Commons to represent Medway's young people to UK Youth Parliament. Our representatives met with colleagues from across the country and debated the main issues on the Make Your Mark ballot. Both George and Malachi represented Medway well and did us proud! The national campaign for 2017-18 at UKYP will be votes at 16, and a curriculum for life. However, MYC will campaign locally on transport and work experience hubs, as these were the top issues for Medway's young people.

Our Organisation Chair, George Perfect, commented "It's brilliant for us to be able to represent the youth council nationally, and I'm very proud of George and Malachi for the brilliant work they have done in representing Medway. I would like to thank the British Youth Council for their work in planning the event, and the Medway Youth Service for their support"

Our Deputy Chair, George Peck said after the debates "It was great to debate the top issues in the chamber itself. The experience was one that I'll never forget, and provided me and Malachi with the chance to raise Medway's issues at the top level. We can't wait to continue representing the voice of the Medway towns nationally"
